Amid the release of his recent studio album, ‘O/UYU’, J.O.Y dropped a new track this week in collaboration with Turkish producer, Fornicras, titled ‘You’re So Fine.’ While known for his ethereal soundscapes and hyperbolic lyrics, J.O.Y continues to captivate listeners with airy vocals and a sensual yet moody instrumental in ‘You’re So Fine.’ Although unique in content, J.O.Y’s musicality suggests a heavy influence from artists, Bryson Tiller, and The Weeknd, only to name a few.
This German-bred artist is no stranger to flattery, singing, “Is it you when I see the ocean blue?” Quite a step above the typical punch line, “Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” I must admit, however, the song is definitely a mood. It yields itself to a dark and mysterious undertone, perhaps, as a representation of the singer’s intensity. In likeness, a similar track titled ‘Lure,’ off of his most recent album ‘O/UYU’ reminds listeners of why they fell in love with J.O.Y in the first place–– his charm and mystery.
Contrary to the ‘Judgement of Yesterday,’ there is no judgment today. J.O.Y definitely gave us the red light special with this track.
